What Is Athlete ReWilding
What is Athlete Rewilding? I would like to introduce you to something that I call athlete Rewilding because I have found it to be the key to having a fulfilling journey of personal growth, deeper self belief and experiencing the awesomeness within you.
Athlete Rewilding is about connecting back to our true self, to our natural world and the primal extraordinary possibilities within us. It’s about connecting to deeper self belief. It’s about giving our body and our mind what it really needs for ultimate health and primal well being of the body and mind which therefore brings progress in performance as well as a more fulfilling journey of personal growth.
In our modern western society we have changed, shifted and adapted in so many ways that are not in support of our personal growth in body and mind. We have taken on many modern things that hold us in limitation rather than possibility. I won’t go through the list right now because it’s so unfortunately long. However, here are a few of the areas to think about like what we eat, how we see ourselves, the regulation of our nervous system, the numbing of our intuitive senses and of course, the significant impact of social media on our behavior and beliefs. Rewilding is what I call the process of shedding the things that have been holding us back and reconnecting to what we truly need to thrive as human beings. When we thrive in body and mind we can experience the extraordinary.
One of the basics of Rewilding is connecting back to our own truth without influences that distort our judgement. The first part of this is learning how to trust your intuitive senses. It’s basically connecting back to self and trusting yourself. Rewilding as an athlete is learning how to trust yourself, your body and your mind and the decisions you make in life, training and racing. Just think - what if you completely and absolutely trusted yourself in all things. What would that feel like and how would you proceed in your journey and in life if you completely trusted yourself and your body?
